Mid Summer in the Mountains

It's that time of the year already. We wait all year for the summer to get here and it's already half over.
It's been a good summer so far. Fairly dry, although as usual in the mountains there is always a chance of scattered thunderstorms. It's amazing when you look at the weather channel when you have a 20-30 % chance of a Thunderstorm they will make the whole day look like solid rain on the little emblem they put up. Why they don't show a Sunny day with a little corner showing rain I will never figure out. You certainly know which side of the half full glass weather folks are trained in.
We've had a lot of old friends stay with us this year and it is always good to catch up with them. It's amazing how many remember our daughter as a toddler. (She's now 15). The other amazing thing is how many new friends we make here every year.
I never regret leaving the Big Hotel Management atmosphere, and buying the Jonathan Creek Inn. It is so much more rewarding!
Well all of us here at The Jonathan Creek Inn and Villas, wish you a great remaining summer and hope you come visit us soon.

Trip Advisor can be a frustrating topic in Maggie Valley. It seems that several of the properties are writing their own reviews or having family members in other areas write them. Trip Advisor can be be an extremely good tool. We suggest you use it and combine it with other sources such as AAA. AAA is often considered the Best rating. It is totally independent and is based on their surprise visit each year. They consider many things including cleanliness, facility updating and safety issues.
It perplexes me that in Maggie Valley, six of the top seven hotels according to Trip Advisor, can not even get a single diamond with AAA.
Since we bought the hotel in 1996 we have achieved a Three Diamond Rating every year through AAA. For the last several years we are the only hotel in the entire county to achieve this.
Combine this with our Trip Advisor reviews and you should be able to get a very comfortable level of what to expect when you stay with us. We invite every guest to review us with honesty on Trip Advisor. We are not perfect all of the time. We do consistently offer great service and a very good product. If something is wrong we make every effort to make it right.
When you are choosing where you will be staying on your next trip to our beautiful valley we hope you will consider everything. Vacations are so important especially in these times that you need to make sure you are getting the best vacation possible.
We hope you choose to stay with us.

Summer is Here.

We seemed to go into summer real quickly this year. Long winter short spring and so far an above normal temperature summer. However, as warm as it is here, (mid 80's), it is a LOT Cooler then everywhere around us. Marianne and I were down in Hilton Head last week. It was HOT!! Literally could not stay on the beach after noon. Too hot to golf as well. Only played one round and the three gentlemen I played with all dropped out from the heat before we reached 18.
When we came back to Maggie, and I went out back, and felt the cool breeze along the creek, I truly wondered why we ever leave.

Our season has been relatively good and as always it is great to see so many people that have continued to come year after year.

As the economy continues to putter along we have left our rates or in some cases lowered them, from previous years. For those of you making last minute reservations, check our specials as we often put them up for specific dates or periods to fill in our vacancies.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
